“And let us not grow Weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not”. Galatians Ch 6 v 9
I arrived back in Kenya in September with so much to do in a short time, but felt a real peace that God was in control and everything would be in order when I needed to leave.
All children were well, and no serious issues to deal with, and in the short time I was back at Sunbeam our numbers had increased to 52; this meant some reorganising of dormitories and beds.
I felt with the current situation we needed to raise the standard of hygiene within the home, so we tiled and painted both dormitories, making cleaning much easier; this was all paid for due to generous donations from Northern Ireland.
Our next task is to tile the main recreation room, the small play area and medical room, which I believe will be done in the near future.
Our next priority was the renovation of the Life Centre, our temporary school. Kenya schools are closed due to the current situation, so this was an ideal time to carry out this much needed work.
Starting the work was a major step of faith knowing that God would provide the finance. Thanks to God the building work is now complete giving us 8 extended classrooms, each with their own door, and a veranda all around the building. We still need electrical work to be completed costing around £300, plus painting and tiling so we believe God will continue to provide; we plan to complete the work by January before school starts.
Our new classroom completed is being used by standard 4 pupils who have returned to school for assessment purposes. Again, although functional it still needs painting and tiling to complete the job.
In about 8 weeks God has provided for and allowed us to do amazing things. Our new manager Cleophas has settled well and doing a great job with the assistance of Albert and another Kenyan board member, Protus who was a former manager, and remains a close supporter of KSM.
We have Calendars for 2021, on sale for £5 each; we trust you will purchase one for yourself and for your friends; they come with an envelope suitable for posting.
My December update will give more details of plans for 2021.
